The most daring colors manufactured by the brands

Read the following post and discover a small selection of some of the unusual colors that brands have manufactured.

How many times have we been walking down the street or watching television when suddenly a certain vehicle has caught our attention more for its color than for the car itself? And although the buying tendency of users opts for fairly discreet colors such as white, gray or black, brands have always marketed vehicles with unusual colors that are out of what we are used to seeing on the roads.

That’s why in today’s post we also want to go out of the usual normality to show you a small selection of some of the strange colors that brands have manufactured. It’s up to you whether you consider them daring or simply peculiar, but we are sure that some of them will surprise you.

Let’s get started!

What is meant by daring color?

We can consider as a daring color all that which is out of what we usually see every day on the roads and that we can consider as exclusive, rare or peculiar. So under this premise, we show you in the following section a fairly extensive selection of colors that we have considered as daring.

Bolder colors manufactured by brands

As a main rule, the most daring colors produced by the brands are found in high-end, sporty and, above all, super sports cars. However, some striking colors are also an option offered by brands for utility vehicles.

So with this in mind, what less than to start with one of the most daring colors, if not the most unusual, that we can find today. This is the so-called chameleon, a color with pearl effects that changes color depending on the angle from which you observe the vehicle and is available in various shades (oranges, greens, etc.). It was the manufacturer TVR who made this color variant fashionable and, although it is not an option chosen by other brands, it is a color with some popularity in the world of tuning.

From here, and beyond the paints with specific effects (thermochromatic, fluorescent, candy effect, chrome effect, etc.), we enter the world of unusual colors that brands offer us to create exclusivity and differentiation. In this sense, one of the brands that we are most accustomed to coat their vehicles with bright colors is Lamborghini. And surely right now you are already thinking about the classic yellow or orange Lamborghini, but we will not be so predictable, because in fact the first two bold colors we want to highlight are those used by this brand in the manufacture of the Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 VT SE.

The first was a golden color called oro elios, which was formulated to express the sunrise, while the other was a brownish bronze color called marrone eklipsis, designed to represent the sunset. Did you not expect these two colors? On the other hand, and more in the dynamics of flashy colors offered by the brand, another very daring option with which Lamborghini surprised us was to use another color quite rare and difficult to see as is the purple viola of the Lamborghini Huracán.

Following this line, another brand that is used to design its super sports cars with flashy colors is Ferrari. And once again, and inevitably, the typical Ferrari red color comes to mind. But no, we are not going to classify as a bold color this kind of color, nor yellow, but blue and green. Yes, as you read it. Ferrari has put on the market blue and green colors that are peculiar to see applied on this type of auto body repair, some of them unique and exclusive thanks to the option they offer for it through their Tailor Made program. Among the most exclusive Ferrari blue tones we highlight the following colors:

The bright blue that coats the Ferrari 812 GTS and imitates the blue sapphire ring of a London owner named Emma Hague. As a curiosity, note that eventually this color was named after its owner.

In relation to the green tones of Ferrari, rather less common than the blues, this is the selection of colors that can be described as daring or unusual:

  • The electric green, called signal green, which is used in the Ferrari La ferrari, also known as F150 or F70 and which was owned by Jay Kay, leader of the musical group Jamiroquai.
  • The lime green that Ferrari used in its 599 GTB HY-KERS hybrid prototype and that served to define the direction that the brand was going to follow in everything related to the change of propulsion of its vehicles.

The almost phosphorescent green and, possibly the strangest of ferrari, called verde germoglio used in some of its models, as is the case of the 812 GTS.

Another manufacturer of high-end vehicles, Porsche in this case, also offers its customers an exclusive customization program through the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur program that expands the palette of colors to coat their vehicles and even gives the option to design the color desired by the customer based on the sample provided by the customer. Among these options, perhaps the most peculiar and less common colors are the following:

On the other hand, if we go down the ladder and focus on premium brands aimed at the general public, manufacturers like BMW have used in recent years some strange colors and difficult to see on the road as the blue Yas Marina Blue M3 of 2104 or more recently the palette of strange colors that the brand has formulated for its M3 and M4 models, among which are the purple twilight purple, yellow Sao paolo yellow or green urban green, among others, not me rare, you can see in this link.

Audi also has to say something about it with colors that, a priori, do not seem to fit with this brand but when you see them give that touch of rarity and exclusivity that leave no one indifferent. The clearest examples of this are the metallic orange dragon orange metallic of the Audi Q8, and kyalami green or red progressive available for the new Audi RS3. What do you think.

And finally, Volvo has contributed to this collection of rare colors with the light blue it has made available to its customers over the past few years. An example of this color is seen on the 2018 Volvo XC 40.

So far it seems that this strange, rare, exclusive, peculiar or whatever we want to call it is something only available for supercars or high-end vehicles. However, this is not entirely true, since we find bold colors also in more accessible vehicles such as these:

  • The mint green of the Fiat 500.
  • The ochre color called Ocra GT Tri-Coat of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio.
  • The Phoenix Yellow with which the Honda Civic Type R Limited Edition is painted.
  • The light turquoise blue known as Blue Magnetism that was used on the Toyota Prius Prime.

Daring colors for all tastes

And so much for our selection of strange colors. We know that there are many more and that this depends a lot on the subjectivity of the person making the assessment, but if something is clear is that, as we have seen, the bold colors are based on common colors such as red, green, blue or yellow. However, brands manage to give that subtle touch of effect or differentiation that makes a traditional shade become a unique color for some, and strange for others. Be that as it may, the color palette is very wide and anyone who wants to attract attention or stand out from the crowd has the chance to do so.
